Overview
Blossoms Day Care is a small family daycare located in Northern Virgnia. We offer care to a small group of 4 children only. Blossoms operates under a Fairfax County family childcare permit issued by the Fairfax County Office for Children. We provide excellent care to children in a clean, safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. By keeping the provider to child ratio small, we can provide individual attention to each child. This also gives us the flexibility to make minor changes to our daily schedule to meet the needs of children.
Children are in care of the same provider for the whole day, so there is consistency and familiarity in their routine. This breeds comfort and emotional security as there are no transitions involved. We also get to learn each child’s preferences, such as how they learn, what they like to eat, and how to best communicate with them. This lets us provide the best care for your children by getting to know them intimately. Being in a social family-like setting teaches them how to be caring, affectionate, respectful, and how to resolve conflicts amicably. Our Philosophy is to “develop and nurture” children so that they become caring and intelligent individuals.
We accept children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old. Full-time and part-time programs are available.
About the Provider
Sangeeta Mittra has been an educator all her life. She started her career as an Elementary school teacher. She was a Math and Science teacher for 10 years. Sangeeta is a very warm, loving, affectionate, and a patient person. She is very energetic and organized. She loves working with children. She started Blossoms Day Care in 2001 to use her experience and education to provide excellent child care in a safe and nurturing environment. She always welcomes the children warmly upon their arrival. She is CPR and First Aid certified. She has also completed Medication Administration Training. She regularly attends Professional Development trainings, seminars, and classes to know about the latest in infant and toddler development as well as in early childhood learning and education.
